Class-A Peoria Chiefs poke fun at LeBron
The Chicago Cubs' Class-A affiliate is planning to have a little fun at LeBron James' expense.
The Peoria Chiefs will hold a Lebron James NBA Championship Replica Ring Giveaway prior to Thursday night's game against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. The mention of the rings, which don't actually exist, is designed to poke fun at James, whose Miami Heat fell in six games to the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals.
Chiefs president Rocky Vonachen says he is also hoping the teams will be allowed to skip the fourth inning - another shot at James, who was ridiculed for disappearing in the fourth quarter of several games against the Mavericks.
Vonachen said he doesn't know if the Midwest League will allow the teams to simply skip an inning.
