SUN VALLEY, Idaho -

The Twin Falls Bomb Squad has neutralized an improvised explosive device found in a mailbox on Hyndeman View Drive between Ketchum and Hailey.  No one was injured.

The Blaine County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene by a caretaker at an East Fork residence at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Twin Falls Bomb Squad arrived on the scene around 8 p.m.

According to the sheriff's office, the squad neutralized the device, which contained projectiles capable of increasing the destructive force of an explosion. The East Fork Road was closed for about an hour until 9 p.m.

Sheriff Gene D. Ramsey said he has contacted federal authorities for assistance in the investigation.

"Without jeopardizing the investigation, we want the public to know that this was not a pressure style cooking device," said Ramsey, alluding to the explosions at the Boston Marathon on April 15.

Ramsey said the investigation would be a priority until those responsible are identified and apprehended. There are no suspects at this time.

Anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity to call 911 immediately.  Anyone with information should contact the Blaine County Sheriff's Office at (208) 788-5555.  Confidential tips may be reported through TIP 411 at www.blainsheriff.com or by texting BCSOTIP to 847411 (TIP 411).
