Arroyo's preliminary hearing took place in a packed courtroom.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -

Adan Arroyo, the man accused in the shooting death of 21-year-old Kristy Aschliman, appeared in court Friday morning.

Arroyo's preliminary hearing took place in a packed courtroom. Around 6-8 Bonneville County Deputies made sure the court was well protected as 13 witnesses took the stand.

The court heard from those who live near the scene of the incident. Many witnesses testified they heard multiple gunshots and saw a tall, slender Hispanic man chasing a woman the day of the incident.

Perhaps one of the most interesting testimonies came from a man who said he was in a car with Arroyo and Aschliman just seconds before she was shot to death.

Many details emerged in Friday's 8-hour hearing. Judge Gardner ruled there is enough probable cause to move on to District Court.

Arroyo will appear in court on March 20 for arraignment.

Arroyo is accused in the shooting death of 21-year-old Kristy Aschliman on Jan. 19. Bonneville County deputies said she had been shot in the head. Investigators said four shots were fired. Aschliman's body was found at 5242 E. Lincoln Road.

Arroyo, of Blackfoot, is charged with first-degree murder and an enhancement charge of use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.
