The snow didn't mean all fun and games Monday ... unless you were a kid who got a snow day.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -

Despite the less-than-perfect road conditions Monday morning, Idaho Falls was alive with the sounds of a snow day. What more could a kid ask for?

Freeman Park transformed into a winter wonderland, and it was hard to resist joining in on the winter play.

“No homework! Yeah!" one child exclaimed.

But not everyone had the day off – not even the teachers.

"I got out here with my ruler and stuck it in my snow and 8 inches," said teacher Brittany Goodwin, who was using her day in to dig out. “No wonder the buses couldn't get out!"

And she wasn't alone in her snow-clearing efforts.

Phil Hentschel and his wife were taking a break from more than 12 hours of plowing for their clients when Local News 8 caught up with them.

Henstchel was so exhausted, he didn't want to show his face on camera. but he did want to show his gratitude for the winter storm.

"Tired, but hey! It's like pennies from heaven!" said Henstchel.

Meanwhile, Idaho Falls Street Superintendent Paul Hathaway said dozens of plows will be pushing through neighborhoods day and night for the next several days.

"We're getting a lot of people out right now, trying to get this done as quick as possible," said Hathaway.

Since those plows are out, there will be some parking restrictions. See the snow removal map under "Related Content" or at http://goo.gl/LYa0a.
