A 13-year-old Fort Hall boy faces a long slate of charges after leading Pocatello Police on a short chase Thursday night.

Police said they were responding to a report of DUI driver. They found the vehicle and were trying to catch up to it for a traffic stop, but the car went off the road at the corner of Benton and Johnson and ran into a fence.

The driver fled the scene on foot, but was found hiding in a yard in the 400 block of South Johnson.

Police determined the boy was a runaway and that the vehicle he was driving was stolen in Layton, Utah.

Police also discovered the stolen vehicle's registered owner was wanted on a forgery warrant.  The unidentified man was located and arrested on the outstanding warrant.

The boy was arrested on a detention order and charges of Possession of Stolen Property, Eluding, Resisting and Obstructing a police officer, failure to purchase a driver's license and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Police are also investigating other reports that the suspect car was being followed by another vehicle and that the two appeared to be be racing.

The search for that second car continued Friday.
