A drug bust occurred in an upscale Pocatello neighborhood on Thursday.
It occurred at 5221 Country Club Drive.
Police detained three men and one woman, all in their 20s, around 9:40 a.m. A fourth man, also in handcuffs, was brought to the house at noon. An undercover officer said they are to be released on citations, and have not been formally charged yet. Of the original four, three are Idaho State University students, and one is not. The fifth person's student status is unknown. All are from Saudi Arabia.
"I didn't do anything," said one of the five, who didn't give his name. "I moved here to America, and automatically police think I'm doing something wrong."
"So can I say then that you don't have any drugs here?" reporter Kaitlin Loukides asked.
"No, no, no, don't say that," he said.
Although officers from state and federal agencies were at the house, the case is being investigated by local law enforcement.
Neighbors have called police repeatedly in the last year over parties that lasted until 4 a.m. Detectives said they had been following this case since November.
Two people's names are on the lease to the home, though there might have been more living there. Police said they were served an eviction notice Monday.
We'll update this page with more details as we get them.
